Academy of Yoga Consciousness
Overview
The Academy of Yoga Consciousness of YCT was established in the year 1995 with the objective to promote quality yoga education in its entirety and to train qualified and well equipped yoga teachers by imparting traditional as well as scientific advancements in the Science of Yoga.
PG Diploma in Yoga
The Andhra University granted recognition to the Academy to conduct Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga course in the year 1996. Initially, until 2006, the course was conducted at Yoga Chaitanyaramam, Vijinigiri where several successful batches of students underwent training on a residential basis.
In 2007 the course is shifted to Yoga Chaitanyagiri the Bheemili branch of YCT which houses the International Institute for Yoga Research and Training. It is a non-residential program with regular evening classes from 5.00 PM to 7.30 PM.
Admission Procedure
Eligibility for admission is a Bachelor’s degree in any field. Admissions will be at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam in the month of July. The candidate needs to submit the application to the University clearly indicating that admission is sought at the Academy of Yoga Consciousness, YCT. There is no entrance test. Admission will be given as per the University rules prevailing at the time.
Candidates should produce all the original certificates as per the admission memo at the time of admission, at the Andhra University during P.G. Diploma admissions. The candidate should be in good health, certified by a registered medical practitioner.
The total number of student intake is 40 per batch. The medium of instruction is English.

- Practice and Teaching of Asanas, Pranayama & Kriyas
- Practice and Teaching of Meditation and Relaxation Techniques
In addition to regular curriculum, special workshops in conducting yoga classes will be taken. The students will also have first-hand experience in teaching and managing residential/non-residential yoga training camps. Guest lectures by visiting professors and scholars are arranged frequently by the Academy.
Infrastructural facilities
The Institute is in a well maintained 5 acre land with mango grove, gardens nourished by cool mountain and sea breeze. It has several spacious classrooms, huge Yoga Halls, well equipped office, latest classroom instruction equipment including LCD etc.
Residential facility is available for select out-station students who can adapt to the ashram routine. Accommodation on twin sharing basis is provided with healthy Yoga diet.
The Library of the Academy is well equipped with hundreds of books on Yoga, Vedanta, Physiology, Psychology, English and Telugu literature. The library also has CD/DVDs on yoga and allied subjects.
YCT Gold Medal
A Gold Medal is given to the topper of each batch instituted by YCT.

Yoga Teacher’s Certificate Course
This is a 3 month intensive residential course intended to evolve ideal yoga teachers conducted at Yogachaitanyagiri, International Institute for Yoga Research & Training, Bheemili and also involves residential Course at Yoga Chaitanyaramam in the direct presence of Pujya Gurudev. This course aims to train aspirants in the Gurusampradaya system of yoga training in order to enable them to teach yoga to the students in schools, colleges and interested public. This course is based on essentials of Physiology, Psychology, Philosophy, and elaborates on the subjects, Yoga and Meditation. Students are also required to master selected verses of Yoga classical texts, like Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradeepika, Sitaramanjaneya Samvadam, Bhagavad Gita etc.
